I-94 Construction 2024
Construction on I-94 between Hwy 120/Century Ave. and the St. Croix River is projected to end late fall of 2024.
Starting at 5 a.m., April 15, westbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes between Woodbury Dr. and Hwy 120/Century Ave through mid-July. Additionally, 9 p.m. on April 10 marks the closure of the 10th St. N. ramp exit heading northbound on I-694. this ramp will be closed through October. There will be additional lane and ramp closures throughout April, with detours provided as needed.

Lane Closures Through October
I-94 is reduced to two lanes in both directions between Century Ave. and Woodbury Dr.
Ramp Closures Through October
The ramp from Tamarack Rd. to SB I-494 is closed
- Detour: Tamarack Rd., Weir Dr., Valley Creek Rd. and SB I-494
The ramp from NB I-494 to Tamarack Rd. is closed
- Detour: Valley Creek Rd., Bielenberg Dr. and Tamarack Rd.
The ramp from 10th St. N. to NB I-694 is closed
- Detour: 10th St. N., Inwood Ave. N., Stillwater Blvd., Ideal Ave. N., 34th St. N. and NB I-694
The ramp from Century Ave. to EB I-94 is closed
- Detour: Century Ave., Hudson Rd., McKnight Rd., Burns Ave. and EB I-94
- Resurface pavement and ramps
- Construct new eastbound lane from I-494 to Woodbury Dr.
- Resurface frontage road (Hudson Rd.) in the project area
- Upgrade pedestrian/bicycle accessibility
- Repair drainage
- Replace signage
- Upgrade lighting
- Install median barrier
The I-94 project improves safety, updates drainage, and extends pavement life. Additionally, once completed, the project will reduce congestion and improve traffic flow.
